On December 07, 2002, Michigan Sports Unlimited, Inc. held its first Adaptive Archery Clinic at Archery Alley in Saginaw, MI. First-time Amateurs and Paralympic Professionals showed up to participate in what proved to be an exciting evening of first-class archery instruction.

Three Team USA Paralympic Archers attended the event and shared their vast knowledge of adaptive archery. Volunteers from Saginaw Valley State University came to lend their support AND participate in the fun. Several other individuals with diverse physical disabilities attended to try their hand at archery.

At Michigan Sports Unlimited’s adaptive sporting clinics you are sure to receive personal attention from knowledgeable instructors. We recognize that in order to enjoy adaptive recreation, you must fully understand the safety and fundamentals of sporting activities.

Numerous pieces of adaptive archery equipment were on display at the 2002 clinic. Crossbows, compound bows, and even re-curve longbows were utilized using several pieces of simple assistive aides.

In addition to the multi-station indoor shooting range, Archery Alley provided an incredible computer simulated hunting experience. Participants were able to choose their hunt (e.g. African Safari) and actually fire at moving targets!

What an incredible experience this year's archery clinic proved to be! All in attendance left with a new found excitement about adaptive archery and many expressed interest in starting a monthly archery club. A special thanks goes out to all of those that came to the clinic, especially our expert paralympian archers and the outstanding staff at Archery Alley.
